Dear Infant, Toddler and Pre-Kindergarten parents,
We would like to start with a huge thank you! The support you have shown Shaker Road School and our teachers during this difficult time is incredible. Your support, well-wishes and encouragement have kept us going as we work through this unprecedented situation.
We would like to provide another update regarding Shaker Road School’s closure due to Covid-19. As you know, Governor Sununu put a “Stay at Home” order in place until May 4. Shaker Road School will follow this guidance and remain closed. Please understand the difficulty of this decision. We take seriously our role in providing high-quality and dependable childcare for families in the greater Concord area. In fact, in over 41 years, we have never had a closure of more than two consecutive days (Monday through Friday) and never imagined needing to close for weeks at a time. However, the Covid-19 is unlike anything we have experienced, and we feel that by remaining closed, we are playing a critical role in helping to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in our community and beyond.
Over the coming weeks, you will receive weekly emails from classroom teachers with at home activities for your children and updates from the classrooms. In addition, be sure to follow along on the SRS website (https://shakerroadschool.org/resources/) to see updated sing-a-long videos with Ms. Rachel, library readings with Miss Debbie and Beary, and a miss you video from the entire SRS faculty! We will continue to update these videos and add additional resources as well. We hope this will be helpful as you navigate additional time at home.
The business office will continue to update billing as you will not be billed during this time but your child’s space will be secured for when we are able to safely reopen.
