Admissions
Admissions for Infant, Toddler, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten
What is the first step in the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten application process?
All Preschool and Kindergarten admissions procedures are based on a waiting list, not an application process.
How do I get my child/ren on the waiting list?
The first step is to call the admissions office (603- 224-0161) or send an email (admissions@shakerroadschool.org) to request to be put on the waiting list. You will be placed on the waiting list as of the date that you called or sent an email to make the appointment. Once availability begins to open up, we will contact you to schedule a tour.
Is there a separate waiting list for all of the programs?
We have a waiting list for each of the four programs, Infant, Toddler, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten.
How long are the waiting lists?
The waiting lists are updated every January. The size of the list is determined by the number of interested families.
When do new Infant, Toddler, and Pre-Kindergarten students enter school?
New students typically begin in September or June, but we also allow mid-year entries if space is available.
When does the Kindergarten year begin?
Children entering Kindergarten can begin in June for the summer program or September at the start of the academic year.
Do you offer tuition assistance?
Financial assistance is not available until the year children are entering Kindergarten. Financial assistance is then granted based on need and qualification through the financial aid process. For more details, contact the Admissions office.
When will we know if we have been granted tuition assistance?
Financial aid and scholarship packages are granted upon notification of admission to the program.
Admissions for Grades 1-9
What is the first step in the application process?
The first step is to call or send an email to the admissions office to schedule an appointment to visit the school.
Does my child need to come in for an interview?
No. The application process requires the child to spend an entire school day with us in lieu of an interview.
When will I know if my child has been admitted?
Decisions are sent via postal mail to applicant families no later than the first week in March.
When will I have to make a deposit to accept an opening?
If your child is accepted, you will have one month to make the deposit to hold your child’s placement.
What if I miss the application deadline?
We accept applications on a rolling basis based on space available after the February deadline.
Once my child is accepted to SRS, do I have to re-apply every year?
No. Once students are admitted to SRS, they need not re-apply for the next school year.
Is lunch included with tuition?
No. All SRS students bring their own lunches to school, as well as a mid-morning and afternoon snack.

Financial aid and scholarship packages are granted upon notification of admission to the program.
If we apply for tuition assistance will it hurt our chance for admission?
No. While the financial aid process and admission process run concurrently, they are completely separate. Applications for financial aid are kept strictly confidential and do not influence the admission decision. Applicants are considered for tuition assistance if there is space in the grade to which they are applying and their admission application has been accepted.
If we receive a tuition assistance award, do we have to pay it back?
No. Tuition assistance awards are not loans and need not be repaid. Families must keep their student billing account current in order for their child to continue to receive tuition assistance.
If our child is offered tuition assistance when the apply to SRS, can we expect a similar award in the future?
Families of currently enrolled SRS students must complete the financial aid process and provide documentation each year. The Financial Aid committee will perform a full analysis to determine eligibility for continued assistance.
