Exploring the World Around Us
The Pre-Kindergarten Program encourages children to grow as individuals and learn fundamental early life and pre-academic skills. We focus on children’s personal and social skills, and learning to be comfortable with themselves, their peers, and teachers. Children learn to communicate their needs and wants, express their ideas, request information, and seek assistance. Self-help and fine motor skills are developed to help attain new levels of independence. The program allows for age-specific activities, ranging from learning centers to free play– to provide necessary pre-academic skills in reading, math, science, social studies, and visual/performing arts.
Children are given the opportunity to learn at their own pace, developing social, emotional, and physical skills. They learn to work cooperatively by respecting others’ needs. The curriculum is based on a multi-sensory approach, allowing classroom experiences to be interactive and fun while catering to a student’s individual learning style. We encourage community, family, and student involvement in the classroom because life experiences play an active role in the process of teaching and learning.
The Pre-Kindergarten program is an all-day program. Children can arrive as early as 7:00 AM and stay until 5:30 PM.
