Curricula
Learning Beyond “Traditional” Academics
The SRS Enrichment Program is offered to students from Sixth through Eighth Grades and provides educational variety and unique learning methods to enhance the more “traditional” academic curriculum. Enrichment courses allow students to move beyond their comfort zones, experiment with new activities, and accept new learning challenges. Enrichment courses are tied to existing academic programs and expand the outreach of our extracurricular programs. Examples of such courses include:
- Ceramics
- Basic and advanced sewing
- Quilting
- Chorus
- Woodworking
- Film-making
- School newspaper
- Creative writing
- LEGO Robotics League
- Music recording studio basics
- Web and graphic design
- MathCounts Program
- Digital photography
- Model United Nations
These activities change periodically based on student interest. These courses are held on a year or semester basis and are incorporated into the standard school day.
